Schools are Killing Creativity

I think that what Sir Ken Robinson said in his TED talk and what the authors of "The Creativity Crisis" said about schools killing creativity is is true. When you go into a preschool, you see kids doing art, singing, dancing, building with blocks, or role-playing. What you don't see is kids sitting at desks while the teacher stands  cramming their minds with math and science and stuff. If you were to watch them all day, you would see that when parents get there kids will give them piles of artwork that they did throught the day, and sometimes you'll see kids that are reluctent to go home because they are having fun. Preschoolers do activities that expand thier creativity all day long.

When you go to a middle school, you see kids walking back and forth from their lockers to classes and you see teachers cramming their heads with information on a given topic.you may even see some falling asleep in class, and by the end of the day, they are happy to leave. you don't see them giving their parents artwork that they made during the day. Also, you'll notice that some people don't raise thier hands to guess an answer. Many are afraid of being wrong, unlike in kindergarten, where kids don't mind being wrong. This all just shows that schools are killing creativity.
